Shy Jane Spyrus loved gadgets. She could build anything B.L.I.S.S. needed in that organization's international fight against crime-although its agents weren't exactly queuing up at her door. Some of them thought her innovations were too...well, innovative. Like her shrink-wrap prophylatic constraints, or her spray-on truth serum. But they just didn't realize those items' potential.
Of course, you couldn't use wacky inventions to fix all your problems; Jane knew that better than anyone. Her neighbor had been kidnapped, driving that point home. She would have to team up with another human being-and Able Andretti arrived just in time. He would help Jane find her neighbor, stop the evil machinations of tall Dirk Ensecksi, and most of all he would have to show her how to love the daylights out of something without batteries.

Bite Me If You Can ~Lynsay Sands
One minute Leigh is walking home in the early hours of the morning, and the next a vampire is sinking his teeth into her neck. Turns out it was a rogue vampire marked for termination, but it does Leigh Little good because the damage's already been done. She's become one of them.
Lucian Argeneau, hunter of rogue vampires, has been alive for over two thousand years, and there's very little to excite him anymore. Food has become tasteless, sex is ordinary. Then Leigh drops into his life. Suddenly he finds himself craving coffee...and imagining the sassy brunette atop the black satin sheets on his nice big bed. It's Lucian's job now to enlighten leigh on the inner workings of being immortal...and tutoring her is igniting a fire in him that hasn't burned in centuries.
But until they stop a renegade bloodsucker from destroying the human race, passion will have to wait!

Fanged & Fabulous ~Michelle Rowen
My name is Sarah Dearly, and I've got major problems. Last month, I was turned into a vampire by the world's worst blind date. Then I may have, totally by accident, started a war between the mostly peaceful bloodsuckers and a bunch of sociopathic vamp hunters who have nicknamed me the Slayer of Slayers. Now I'm being used as bait to draw out the hunters' bad-assed leader, while my gorgeous 600-year-old boyfriend Thierry seems to be blowing me off, and my sizzle-hot, fanged friend Quinn is trying to turn my self-defense lessons into make-out sessions. So you know what? I'm done. I've had it. There comes a time when a vamp has to just suck it up and go after what she wants. And as soon as I figure out what that is, that's exactly what I'll do...

Undead and Unappreciated ~MaryJanice Davidson
Betsy is still struggling with her new life, trying to keep up with old friends while running a vampire nightclub. This time, she discovers she has quite the family tree, including a long-lost half sister who is the daughter of the Devil and is destined to take over the world. In her Operation Keep an Eye on the Spawn of Satan, Betsy tracks down her little sister, Laura, a pretty, normal-seeming college girl in the Twin Cities. Naturally, adventures ensue: Betsy is set upon by a pack of moody vampires, turns evil for a few hours, and resolves her hate-love relationship with the charismatic Eric Sinclair, king of the vampires. And of course, there is some hot vampire sex and a lot of talk about shoes. What's not to like!
Now she has to deal with the Spawn of Satan! Of course it helps that the Spawn of Satan is mostly a goodie goodie. Also how bad must the stepmonster be if NO one noticed that staan had taken over her body??

Undead and Unemployed ~MaryJanice Davidson
Nothing can make Betsy Taylor give up her shoe fetish-even dying and rising as the new Queen of the Vampires. Being royally undead isn't all it's cracked up to be-there are still bills to be paid. and Betsy is determined to live as normally as possible, even if it means getting a job. A "feet" she accomplishes with panache, landing her dream job selling designer shoes at Macy's.
Things couldn't be better-except for her new friends, who keep pestering her while she's on the clock. As if she has time to socialize when there are deliciously sinful shoes to try on-and buy at a discount. It seems that vampires are being murdered in St. Paul, and they're all clamoring for Betsy to do something about it. The worst part is she's going to have to enlist the help of the one vamp who makes her blood boil: the oh-so-sexy Sinclair. Now, she's really treading on dangerous ground-high heels and all...
Yes, Betsy got a job. Good for her, unfortunately she got one that put her within easy access to the bad guys. Next time, Betsy look for an office job, or at least not one where attempting to kill you is so easy!

Undead and Unwed ~ MaryJanice Davidson
It's been a helluva week for Betsy Taylor. First, she loses her job. Then, to top things off, she's killed in a car accident. But what really bites (besides waking up in the morgue dressed in a pink suit and cheap shoes courtesy of her stepmother) is that she can't seem to stay dead. Every night she rises, with a horrible craving for blood. She' not taking too well to a liquid diet.
Worst of all, her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious, power-hungry vampire in five centuries-a badly dressed Bela Lugosi wannabe, natch. Frankly, Betsy couldn't care less about vamp politics, but they have a powerful weapon of persuasion: designer shoes. How can any self-respecting girl say no? But a collection of Ferragamos isn't the only temptation for Betsy. It's just a lot safer than the scrumptious Sinclair-a seductive bloodsucker whose sexy gaze seems as dangerous as a stake through the heart...
Seriously, if you were a vampire would you want your queen to be named Betsy? No me! I mean she doesn't even act like a vampire. Going out in the sun, telling her parents that she is a vampire, it is almost like she is trying to get her self killed. OK, enough ranting about Betsy because in truth I like her a lot. She kick butt without even trying! All for the love of shoes. Bribery will get Sinclair almost everything he wants from Betsy. Can't wait to read more of Betsy's adventures!

Bitten & Smitten ~Michelle Rowen
Blind dates can be bad, but Sarah Dearly's date is a true contender for worst ever. His neck nibbling didn't just leave a bruise; it turns her into a vampire, and the newest target for a pack of zealot vampire hunters. With her date now their latest victim, Sarah runs for her immortal life--straight into Thierry de Bennicoeur, a master vampire who is just a wee bit suicidal. Thierry can't resist a damsel in distress and agrees to teach Sarah how to live the vampire life if she'll help him end his own. But as it turns out, Sarah may be his best reason for living.
So funny! I can't wait to finish the next book in the series (Fanged & Fabulous) to see what happens between Sarah, Thierry, and Quinn.

Sex and the Psychic Witch ~Annette Blair
As a buyer for her sister's vintage curio shop, Harmony finds her job a challenge, since she has the ability to read objects and learn things about their former owners-even their deepest, darkest secrets. Now, a Celtic ring depicting a man's empty embrace has led her to the Paxton castle on the coast of Salam, Massechusetts.
King Paxton has inherited a haunted money pit of a castle. He must get rid of it before he's cursed with the same bad luck that has plagued his family for generations. But out of nowhere, a leggy blond walks in and stops construction, insisting that a witch haunts the place. What Harmony finds is an angry ghost, a disgruntled renovation crew, and a man who could use a harmonic convergence...
This was a really fun read. I can't wait to see what these sisters get up to in the next book of the series!

Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire ~Michele Bardsley
Ever since a master vampire became possessed and bit a bunch of parents, the town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma, has catered to those of us who don't rise until sunset-even if that means PTA meetings at midnight.
As for me, Eva LeRoy, town librarian and single mother to a teenage daughter, I'm pretty much used to being "vampified." You can't beat the great side effects: no crow's-feet or cellulite! But books still make my undead heart beat-and, strangely enough, so does Lorćan the Loner. My mama always told me everyone deserves a second chance. Still, it's one thing to deal with the usual undead hassles: rival vamps, rambunctious kids adjusting to night school, and my daughter's new boyfriend, who's a vampire hunter, for heaven's sake. It's quite another to fall for the vampire who killed you....
This book in the second in a series. The first book is *I'm The Vampire, That's Why* I'll try to put the first book up later this month.

Not Another New Year's(2007) ~Christie Ridgway
After all, this year brought Hannah Davis nothing but the memory of her wandering fiancé marrying someone else behind her back. Now, sitting alone at a bar in Coronado, California, on December 31, she decides to do something radical...and lets a brooding good-looker take her to bed. But when a hysterical woman bursts into their room much too early on New Year's Day, Hannah realizes this guy's more complicated than she thought...
Ex-Secret Service Agent Tanner Hart screwed up, big-time! Hoping to temporarily boot some of the ghosts from his life, he hooked up with this sexy stranger for a hot one-night stand-only to discover she's the woman he's agreed to protect...from men just like him!
But a new year is a time for fresh beginnings. Despite the danger, the hoopla, and the hangovers, if Hannah's brave enough to risk her heart again-and Tanner's wise enough to realize he deserves it-maybe this one will be different.

Evans Above ~Rhys Bowen
Evan Evans is a young police constable who has traded in the violence of city life for idyllic Llanfair, a Welsh village tucked far away from trouble. Nestled in the Snowdonia mountain range, Llanfair looks to Evans like a town forgotten by time, but he quickly learns that even the bucolic countryside has its share of eccentric - and deadly - characters. Before Evans has time to sort through the complicated relationships and rivalries of his new home, he's called to the scene of a crime as brutal and fearsome as any he encountered in the big city. Two hikers have been murdered on the trails of the local mountain, and Evans must hunt down a vicious killer - who may or may not be linked to the mysterious destruction of Mrs. Powell-Jones' prize-winning tomatoes.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ~Douglas Adams
I first read this book the summer before I went to college. Yes, there was a movie based on the book (it wasn't that great). I still tell everyone to read the series before they go to college. Although it really has no relevance to college it is a great read and one not to be skipped. Also more than likely it will give you and your new roommate something to talk about when you are moving into the dorm!
My favorite part of the book was learning about the Infinate Improbability Drive. If only there was such a thing. It is also fun to see how many of the things in the book have translated to things for computers or the internet. For example babelfish programs on the internet translate webpages and text to other languages.

One for the Money ~Janet Evanovich
Trenton native Stephanie Plum is out of work, out of money, and her car's in repo-hell. so who does a hardly working girl turn to when the going gets tough? Meet cousin Vinnie, bail bondsman. Stephanie figures it's nice work if you can get it-shagging bail jumpers for $10,000 a pop. So she joins up.
Her first assignment: nail Joe Morelli, a former vice cop on the run from a charge of murder one. There's also a cranky ex-rize fighter dogging her and a nasty habit she has of leaping first and looking later. If Stephanie Doesn't wise up fast, the first dead body in her future could be her own.
I picked up this book the first time because I was looking for a new author to read and the main caracter in this book was named Stephanie (I love that name!). I was laughing so hard at parts that my mom thought something was wrong. I now have her and a few of my friends hooked on the series! It is a definate must read.
